OCR eZINE - Keeping You Informed

The Office of the Children’s Registry (OCR) has embarked on a series of school tours aimed at increasing children’s awareness about the OCR and reporting of child abuse and missing children. The school tours, eight of which have already been held, were conducted across the island and were used to formally introduce the OCR Child ambassadors to their respective schools as well as launch the OCR Clubs in Schools initiative.

The OCR Clubs in Schools initiative will be integrated into the Peer Counsellors Clubs in schools and will serve to further sensitize the school community on the importance of reporting child abuse. The Clubs in Schools initiative will provide a direct link between the OCR, students, staff and parents and it is intended that the school and by extension, the community, will become more sensitized and will further support the need to care for and protect the nation’s children.
